Left-Brain, Right-Brain
Jill Bolte Taylor got a research opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: She had a massive stroke, and watched as her brain functions — motion, speech, self-awareness — shut down one by one. Her right brain was suddenly free of the monkey chatter of the left brain. Her insights can aid us in understanding the workings of the ego-mind, and bolster what Tim and I explore in depth in our book, The Risen, around the simulate self. Here is her talk about her experience. Have kleenex at hand.
