Thank you to all those who have sent wishes of good things and other blessings.
Today's reading and affirmation at the
Science of Mind Daily Meditation struck me as so appropriate, which is just what I needed to hear in my life right now. I'd like to share it with you, which was written by Kathy Juline, RScP
It is the light of the mind which determines whether you see confusion and limitation or whether you see order and abundance.
Ervin Seale
In the Northern Hemisphere, the winter solstice occurs today. If you live north of the equator, you will see a gradual lengthening of the day until the summer solstice occurs. The sun appears to be shining for a different period of time each day; however, that is an illusion. The sun is always shining, whether or not you can see it—just as Spirit is always present no matter what appearances may suggest. With this awareness in mind, look beyond appearances of disharmony or lack. Realize that omnipresent Spirit is shining in your life always and in every situation. A sign in the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City notes that “the hidden details and secret views” in the far corners and highest spires of the cathedral were placed there not necessarily to be seen, but to signify that God is fully and always present. The delicately carved cornice projecting from a high column is hidden from view, yet it is there. Similarly, daylight may last for a shorter or longer time, depending on the time of the year; but the sun, symbolizing Spirit, is always shining in your life, even when it does not appear to be. Today, realize that Spirit is the cause and essence of your life, and allow your life to be renewed. See beyond the darkness of temporary appearances.
Affirmation
I stand in the light of Spirit, seeing love, beauty, and harmony everywhere. Knowing that my being is one with infinite, eternal Life, I abide always in the presence of perfect wholeness.

Dear August,
Talking about appearances.I really like the way you do your graphics. From where do you get your pictures? or do you draw these designs yourself? Are you using microsoft or are you a linux man?
Keep well
Sydney
Thanks! I draw upon many resources for images, mostly from the net, and try to give credit to the artists when their names are available....just a microsoft person here, nothing fancy!
Happy Solstice to you, August and Tim!!! Let the light shine in our hearts. Last night a good friend was ordained to the priesthood in our local Episcopal church. She is a woman whose light was always visible to us but not to herself. When she gave us each her blessing by laying on of hands, the church was filled with the brilliance of God's grace.
Evelyn, what wonderful and joyous news to hear - thanks for sharing this. That church is truly blessed with yet more light!
